Mountain Mashdown
Mountain Mashdown! - A GMTK 2022 Entry, Theme: Roll the Dice
https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-jam-2022/rate/1621827
Fight off hordes of enemies by swinging your sword while the roll of a dice decides the effects and multipliers that affect the battle.
Survive for as long as you can as the effects get increasingly harder!
Controls:
The sword swings towards the direction of your mouse.
WASD to move.
Can you beat our highscore of 606 seconds?
Don't touch the volume slider in the settings menu - it will destroy your system audio, we found this bug after submission! :(
Gameplay:
The gameplay is set in rounds of 30 seconds. For 30 seconds, you must fight off a wave of enemies.
At the end of each 30 second round, multiple dice are rolled that decide various multipliers and effects that are applied to the player, and the enemies - and has a chance to spawn in a boss!
The aim of the game is to survive for as long as you can while the roll of a dice decides the difficulty of your gameplay!
About:
We changed our entire game idea on Saturday since our original idea didn't fit the theme enough - this meant that the timescale for this game was incredibly tight! We were still doing fundamental gameplay elements in the last hour, meaning we had 0 time to polish, balance or bugfix the game - so unfortunately it isn't quite up to what we would've liked - but nonetheless we're happy with the end result!
In the ideal world we would have better dice effects that affect the game more, more enemy variation, better attack physics, ranged enemies/weapons and more, but there we go! :)
We were hoping to name the game something a little more different to our previous jam entries, but unfortunately due to time restraints, our placeholder name happened to turn into the final game name!
Programmed in Unity.
